In this case, we’re talking about Asian porn in particular. ScanLover.com (SLF) is a discussion forum for chatting about JAV and Asian beauties. They’ve been around a really fucking long time, decades even, though they underwent a big renovation in 2016. It’s still popular as hell, though, with nearly 2 million visitors stopping by every month. Hey, that’s even more than your mom gets! The long shelf life and the consistent size of the userbase over the years tells me they just might have some good shit to look at while polishing the ol’ bishop.
Release Your Inner Scan Lover
If I couldn’t read, I probably wouldn’t guess ScanLover has anything to do with smut, at least not from the front page. It’s got a squeaky clean layout, consisting almost entirely of text with a few SFW user icons beside the posts. The setup is different from the front page of most forums, where you’ll see a bunch of subforums and subcategories listed. Here, you get a feed of all the latest posts about everything, the top half reserved for sticky posts about shit like banned file hosts, new user introductions and even coronavirus info.
One of the stickies at the very top is titled, “Welcome! New visitors read this first,” so it seemed like a good place to start. The post talks about the overhaul they underwent in 2016, with the entire original SLF being removed from the domain. There’s a link to Archive.org where you can view the old stuff, but the link is busted; just type ScanLover.com in the box when you get there, and it’ll pull up archives going all the way back to 2001.
I couldn’t help poking around in the old archived version, where I immediately found tons of galleries of JAV idols and Asian pornstars. It’s a contrast to the cleaner, minimalist approach they’ve taking now. “This is a hipster and minimal new forum that will be the new home and community for connoisseurs of Asian beauties and all things JAV.”
They say the new SLF 2.0 isn’t an upgrade, and will actually have fewer features. The forum is focusing purely on discussions. Posting image sets is no longer permitted, though individual pics are good and encouraged. Well, as long as there’s something to beat off to…
The New Scan Lover vs The Old
The new ScanLover.com forum has the same purple flower tab icon as the old version, but I’ve got to admit, I was a little worried about the new setup. No image sets? No torrents? Discussion-based with no amateur chicks or poops? What are these prudes even talking about? I’m a horny masturbator, goddammit!
But maybe I was getting ahead of myself. I started taking a look through the recent posts. One thing the site really has going for it is that there are Scan Lovers posting in the forum every few minutes. Any kind of discussion board thrives on a big, engaged community, and these fuckers have that in spades.
Instead of the usual breakdown into a bunch of subforums, ScanLover uses a tagging system that gives the whole thing a looser feel than most discussion boards. You can browse all the posts with a particular tag, which is similar to dipping into a subforum, but posts can have multiple tags. It’s a different setup than usual, but unless you’re an absolute retard, it won’t take you more than a couple of minutes to adjust and figure it out.
You know, for a JAV site, this is a remarkably streamlined and efficient tagging system. Weeaboos and other fans of the genre know exactly what I’m talking about—a lot of the big JAV archives have those sprawling Tags indexes with thousands of entries like Office Lady Nipple Abuse and Fake Bus Molester Bukkake Harem, but ScanLover.com’s Tags page lists just 21 tags.
It was while perusing that short list of subcategories that I got a lot more hope about finding some good, fappable content on the site. I’m not all that interested in the technical talk or the General Chat, the Staff section or the somewhat ironic JAVmagnet tag, under which people discuss torrents, but only vaguely. There’s an ID Help tag which seems like it’d be useful for identifying JAV idols you find in dirty movies or nude images, but really, I was here for some nudes right now.
Getting Into the Good Stuff
For a hardened pervert like me, and maybe like yourself, there are some immediately appealing tags listed on the Tags page or the front-page sidebar. They’ve got one for AV Actresses and another for Gravure Idols, though the description says it’s for discussion about non-nude idols, so maybe you’ll be more interested in the Nude Models tag. There’s one for Celebrities, another for JAV, as well as tags for Image Videos, Fetish, Fakes and a few others.
I went into Scan Lovers thinking it was going to be a bunch of weebs sharing JAV, but then they hit me with this discussion-oriented setup, so I decided to aim my dick where I thought I was heading all along. I clicked the JAV tag, and the site showed me all the latest discussions related to the art and science of Japanese Adult Video.
A couple of the threads were about technical shit like sharing JAV subtitles or finding the source or AV code for particular GIFs. Most of the discussions, though, revolved around particular babes in the industry like Sena Hikari, Umi Yatsugake and Kotoha Miona. There’s also one guy who wrote a long post about destroying his dick watching one JAV video and trying to find out who the broad is.
I noticed a really long thread about Nanatsumori Riri with over 300 posts, so I figured it’d be a nice place to start my fap test. I chose correctly, because the whole thread is just hundreds, maybe even thousands of sexy pics of Nanatsumori. The chick is just constantly being photographed in her underwear, and the JAV screengrabs are pretty nice, too.
Next, I took a trip to ScanLover.com’s Fetish section, with all the recent posts tagged with such. Here, I found Asian porn fans talking about anal, evil grandfathers, fat obese disgusting men, flexible girls and prominent ribcages. I guess it shouldn’t surprise me the discussions are so wide-ranging and freaky, given the kinkiness of any random JAV site.
I clicked on a really long thread called JAV Actresses Wearing Impressive Loads. You can probably guess exactly what I found there, but if not, let me spell it out: it’s a big collection of photos of Japanese women covered in sperm.
Despite their fancy talk about how this is a pure discussion forum and you’re not allowed to post image sets, that’s pretty much what you’ll find here. They may not be galleries in name, but most of the threads end up being themed collections of nude and semi-nude images. You can call that whatever the fuck you want and act like you’re some kind of refined and sophisticated film buff, but at the end of the day, you’re beating off to it all the same.
I was ready to write off ScanLover.com as a bust until I actually started poking around. Like any good, long-lived discussion board, this place thrives on the strength of its community. Even if you aren’t the chatting or sharing type, there are plenty of otaku pervs here who are, which means you’re not going to run out of fap fodder anytime soon.
