Rarecord takes a somewhat risky approach to branding, with a name that doesn’t immediately bring to mind boobies or humping. Even if you’ve never visited ThePornDude, it ain’t too tough to guess what the topic of conversation is going to be around here. Rarecord, on the other hand, could be a totally SFW site by the sound of it, though you know I wouldn’t be doing a writeup of anything family-friendly around here. With a title that combines Rare with Record, I could see crate-digging vinyl addicts swinging by, thinking they can score some vintage LPs to spin on their old-timey hipster stereo equipment. Imagine their surprise when they find all those dirty movies!
Honestly, though, I can see this one taking off, in which case Rarecord might join the lexicon of dirty proper nouns like xHamster, ImLive or Brazzers. None of those sound inherently dirty, but the brands have made big enough names for themselves that you know by now exactly what kind of smut they’re peddling. Rarecord.io is a growing archive of Chaturbate records; in other words, a free library of prerecorded, previously live webcam sex shows. They’re a newer joint, living on a domain registered just a month ago, but they’re already getting thousands of visitors a day. Let’s see what all those wankers are wanking at, shall we?
Explore Chaturbate Records
Rarecord makes it obvious what they’re selling right at the top of the front page, giving you simple instructions to Explore Chaturbate Records. There’s a search bar for typing in your favorite Models and Tags, which I’ll come back to later. The overall presentation is pretty simple and streamlined, but they’ve made the joint look nice. I like the color scheme and the smooth gradients in their diamond-shaped logo and the word Chaturbate.
Like most free porno archives, most of the front page is devoted to thumbnails from recent videos. The content of those thumbs makes the site’s focus immediately apparent, even if you’re illiterate and couldn’t read the front-page text. While the wall of thumbnails at most tubes consists mainly of screengrabs and moving GIFs from the videos, the thumbnails here are their own little walls of smut. Each one displays 16 snapshots taken from the cam show in question.
As webcam fans are no doubt already aware, the quality of individual shows can vary all over the fucking place. A lot of the smaller sites are just full of bored chicks waiting around in their bedrooms, fully clothed and sometimes a little bit surly. Chaturbate is one of the better spots to catch cam action, thanks to fucking massive userbase of camwhores and fans. Still, a random cross-section would probably net you a lot of softcore stripteases and underwear-clad dirty talk.
That’s one of the reasons I really liked what I saw on the front page of Rarecord. I’m not sure how exactly they decide which camgirls to follow, but there’s a nice variety of action going on around here. I see some stripteases and solo masturbation shows, but I also see a fair number of full-on sex scenes, including some group activities. One of the most recent uploads is a chick in a tiny red outfit sucking a pair of dicks, one on each side of her head. I even see a couple foursome videos from a Chaturbate couple calling themselves Jackandjill.
What Kind of Rarecords Are You Hunting?
I’ve reviewed a few different sites that archive prerecorded webcam shows, and one of the regular weak links I find is the lack of tagging. Some of these sites don’t tag their content at all, which I think is a result of automatically generated archives; when a computer’s recording the shows and uploading them, it doesn’t add the same tags a human being would. This can make searching these libraries a nightmare, inducing not just headaches but aching blue balls.
Rarecord.io has pretty damn decent tagging for a cam library. I tried a few search terms in the box and they all brought back numbers. There are currently 63 ASMR movies, a few hundred threesomes, 900 cosplay cam shows, and almost 9000 tagged with Feet. I like how the search engine breaks down your results, showing you the total numbers of camgirls with the term in their username, as well as other tags encompassing what you typed. (For example, my Feet search also showed me result totals for Feets, Barefeet and Bigfeet.)
There’s only one problem: I couldn’t actually click my way through to those supposed collections of material. I even turned off my adblocker and tried again, thinking my plugin might be fucking with the interface as it has on other sites. I have to assume this is just a temporary glitch, which ain’t too uncommon on a site this new. They’ve clearly got the infrastructure in place for a much better organized cam archive than I’ve seen before.
The glitch also extends to searches for models. The search engine tells me there are 82 Jackandjill videos on Rarecord.io, but it won’t deliver me to them. Fortunately, the search function on the Models page works just fine, so I was quickly able to make my way to the couple’s Rarecord selection. They’ve currently got over 16,000 webcam models listed, and given how absurdly fast the site is growing, I think that number stands to be much bigger by the time you take a look for yourself.
That’s a Whole Lot of Rarecords
As I’ve been reviewing Rarecord.io, I’ve periodically been making my way back to the front page of the site. Every time I do, there’s new stuff to be seen. They’re adding a constant stream of new updates to the library. They’ve added half a dozen in the last ten minutes alone, sometimes adding new flicks within seconds of each other. It’s a fucking insane and impressive rate of growth, to say the very least.
I’m sure some of you have done the math in your heads. If they’ve already got 16,000 models listed and they’re adding material this quickly, the archive’s got to be huge, right? Well, it’s actually even bigger than I expected. While the domain is only a month old, they’ve actually been building the collection for a little bit longer than that, apparently preparing for their launch.
The only problem is, the search seems to max out at 200 pages. Whether I view the Latest or the Popular movies, I can only pull up 4800 results. Given the sheer volume of performers, and the fact that most of them have multiple videos, I know that Rarecord has recorded tens of thousands of Chaturbate videos. I just can’t see a full list of them. Good thing they’re tagging content around here, because you’ll need those tags to really dig into the pile.
Then again, it’s not like you have to dig very far to find something good. I went back to the front page, where I decided to conduct my official fap test with one of the latest videos, added just minutes ago. It’s a 24-minute show by a Chaturbate couple calling themselves Kristel_jack. The preview image shows pretty feet, cocksucking and doggystyle banging, so I knew I was in for a treat even before I clicked Play.
I had to turn my adblocker back on along the way, because Rarecord.io is a bit spammy. That ain’t uncommon on a site like this, and I doubt it will be a dealbreaker for anybody. I’d say an ad here or there is a fair trade for access to all this free fap fodder.
My only real complaints about the site seem to be minor kinks that I hope they’ll work out soon. The search engine sure looks nice, but doesn’t quite work as it should, and I really hope they tweak the setup to show more than 200 pages of material. I’d hate to see content get lost down the memory hole when the whole idea behind the site is to archive those ephemeral webcam performances.
Rarecord.io is a winner in my book. The fact that this webcam archive actually tags their content is going to be a big draw to masturbators who prefer certain types of content, since it’s hard to find what you want on tag-free sites. Throw in that massive, growing pile of free porn and you’ve got a recipe for a beautifully wasted afternoon, plus another coat of sperm on your keyboard.
