Joi Booru! Goddamn. You hentai perverts have done it to me again. As a dude who looks at hardcore porn at least 23 hours a day, I always feel like I’ve seen everything. Well, somebody just sent me a link to a crazy fucking hentai image board, and I’m still a little confused. Without any further ado, let’s try to figure out just what the hell JoiBooru even is.
(Spoiler alert: it’s hentai with short erotic stories on each of the images. You ever see that before?)
An Imageboard with Something Extra
JoiBooru is a booru-style imageboard and is even hosted on the official domain: Joi.Booru.org. Load up the front page and you find a simple search bar and some cat-eared anime girls holding up numbers. That 4,143 represents the current number of posts on the site. As of this writing, they had just over 1.1 million viewers.
I know it’s an imageboard, and I know it’s full of hentai as imageboards typically are. What I don’t understand is what the theme is supposed to be, if there’s a unifying theme at all.
The Posts page shows a thumbnail gallery of the newest pictures on the site. The most recent drawing is a seductive tiger woman with huge titties and a black twat hanging from her furry white crotch. She is licking her lips and beckoning you toward her. This cat lady is apparently your boss, as evidenced by the fact that she’s sitting on a desk in a high-rise office, wearing what might be construed as a blazer if you live in a porno cartoon world.
The image includes long paragraphs of text on both sides, describing the way your tiger boss is going to fuck you. She even squirts, getting her delicious feline scents all over you. Yum.
A half-dozen posts before that follow the same formula. There’s a really explicit piece of furry art with a kinky bit of literotica to go with it. So, JoiBooru is a furry hentai site, right?
Nope. Not quite. I scroll down a bit and clicked on a thumbnail I couldn’t quite make out because it was so small. This one featured a drawing and story involving humans. It’s about a college professor and a hot female student making a male student suck your dick.
Jack Off Instructions or Jack Off injuries?
When I saw the site name, I was sure JoiBooru was about Jack Off Instruction fetish movies. When I saw it was an imageboard, I assumed it was Jack off Instruction hentai. None of the stories I looked at instructed you to pull your pud, though. It’s just like a smorgasbord of short sex stories told in the second person, with you as the lead.
I pulled up Urban Dictionary to see if there was some new definition these yeet youngsters are pulling out of their asses, esketit. JOI can also stand for Jack Off Injury, though I haven’t seen any bent wieners or anything yet. It is a hentai site, though, so I definitely expect to see some more weird shit before I’m done here.
Joi can also mean “fuck” in Cambodian. I don’t think this is a Cambodian site. Everything I looked at was in English, and I got the distinct impression the place is mostly frequented by weaboos.
I googled JoiBooru to see if I could turn up any useful information. The only thing I found that wasn’t complete gibberish was a forum post from when JoiBooru was briefly shut down. Apparently the Booru Project will take you offline if they find any lolicon or shotacon, so make sure your naked bird girls and big-dicked wolf pups are all of legal age.
I can’t really tell you what the Joi in JoiBooru stands for, but I do think I understand what the site’s all about now. Like any hentai site, it’s full of filthy manga-style images of slutty teenagers, devil girls with huge boobs and tails, centaur bitches with their horse cunts exposed, and extremely explicit parodies of your favorite anime characters. The thing that separates JoiBooru from other hentai sites is that each image comes with a short little story so you don’t have to overwork that little brain of yours when you’re masturbating to the pics.
Ghost Girls, Unicorn Butt-Sex and You
JoiBooru represents a unique hentai niche that I haven’t seen much of until now. I’m obviously late to the party, because I am surprised by the size of the community, to say nothing of this ever-expanding archive of hentai sex story pictures. They’ve got over a thousand members and over 4000 images so far, so if you’re a true completist you better start fapping right away.
The Booru Project has nearly 5000 imageboards right now, and JoiBooru is about number 200 in terms of popularity. That might sound low, but still accounts for millions of visits per month, and who knows how many gallons of seed spilled over erotic stories about banging your busty ghost wife.
That said, this isn’t one of the imageboards that updates in a nonstop, steady stream. You usually get a handful of updates per day, but sometimes you might go a day or two without seeing a new unicorn getting buttfucked or read an erotic tale of snake woman sex. If you get hard up for something new, though, you can always work up your own and share it with the rest of the class.
Community is a big fucking deal on most image boards, and the same is true about JoiBooru. It makes sense, considering the entirety of their pornographic content is user-made and uploaded. A dip into the Stats page will show you a bunch of the most active users and what they’re up to. With enough courage, determination, not to mention forearm stamina and a whole lot of industrial lubricants, you can be on that list, too.
A Filing Cabinet of Deviant Sex Acts
Booru imageboards have a very well-designed tag system, and it’s put to decent use on JoiBooru. Like anything else that accepts user tags, there’s a bit of overlap sometimes, but it feels like these guys have put effort into keeping them a little bit more streamlined.
Along the side of the main Posts page, you’ll find Tags listed for the current images. You know the drill. Click a tag to get more of the material in question. You are just one step away from a couple of thousand 1girl images, 245 Monster Girls and even more Futanari. Apparently, the Sword Swallowing picture out front is the only one in the archive so far, so why don’t you whip up a few more? That is, if you’re not too busy jerking off to the thousands of Male/Female pictures.
Oddly, they don’t have a Furry tag despite all the anthropomorphic animal fucking. There is an Anthro tag as well as an Interspecies one, not to mention all kinds of specific tags like Fox Girl, Mammal, My Little Pony, Raccoon and Non-Mammal Breasts. I’ve seen captioned images on imageboards before, but JoiBooru is the first website I visited that’s devoted entirely to hentai with short erotica baked right into the images. Given all the really explicit video porn I see on Internet, I wouldn’t have guessed that something like this would be popular enough to pull millions of views. Then again, it’s not like Brazzers lets you watch an Egyptian dog woman raise your penis from the dead. There’s so much furry porn on JoiBooru that I almost want to call it a furry site, but they’ve also got a fair amount of hentai art that features normal humans having dirty sex.
