If you’re looking for manhwa scans, what better place to conduct your research than a joint called ManhwaScan? The title makes it sound a little like maybe they only have one Korean comic book scanned in page by page, but I don’t think they’d be pulling the kind of traffic they are if that were the case. These guys get over a million visits a month, which is better than the local comic shop that only carries clean, wholesome manga.
ManhwaScan.net is a free library of Korean manhwa, mostly translated into English. They’re a relatively young site, the domain registered just a couple years ago, but they’ve clearly established a pretty solid userbase. The site takes a slightly different approach than most of the adult comic and hentai collections I review here at ThePornDude, since not all of the catalog is NSFW. I know my audience around here, though, so don’t worry: I’m not going to spend this review talking about the family-friendly fare! Now, let’s get to the dirty stuff…
Manhwa vs Manga vs My Own Perversions
From the outside, Manhwa Scan looks a lot like your typical free hentai stash. The logo is just the site title spelled out in scratchy two-tone letters, with an overall simple but uncluttered presentation. I know a lot of you astute nerds can immediately spot the artistic differences between hentai and manhwa, but the giveaway for me is mainly the title. ManhwaScan focuses on manhwa, naturally, but you’ll also find a bit of manga and some Chinese manhua in there, too.
In case you’re new to the scene, this is a good place to point out the main differences between manga and manhwa. I’d say the biggest thing that separates them is the Sea of Japan; manga, and thus hentai, comes from Japan, while manhwa is its Korean counterpart. The artistic styles are remarkably similar, what with the big eyes and all, though the subject matter is a little more restrained, at least in this pervert’s humble opinion.
Pull up the front page of your average doujin collection and you’ll be assaulted by dick-slanging futanaris and boob-groping tentacles. If I have any immediate complaint about the setup, it’s that the tagging is pretty lackluster. Hentai sites often have a sprawling and unwieldy index of keywords, sometimes spanning thousands of entries. I couldn’t even find a Tags list at ManhwaScan, and most of the individual stories only seem to have a few genre tags listed. Tagging is vital for organizing any kind of online media collection, and the minimal approach here is going to make it hard to find your preferred kinks, sex acts and scenarios.
Manhwa Stories by the Hundreds
I always like to tell my visitors exactly how large any porn collection is, but the layout at ManhwaScan.net makes it hard to find precise numbers. Let’s Read Some Manhwa Scans
I made my way to ManhwaScan.net’s 18+ area in search of a good sample I could use to conduct my official fap test. There’s some high-quality stuff filed away in the Raw aisle, but it hasn’t been translated yet and I was hoping for something with both sex and a storyline I could follow. Most of the material has been translated into English, giving me an overwhelming assortment of choices to get excited about.
The thumbnail pics are titillating, and some of the titles are downright filthy in just the right way. Forcing the Woman I Despise Into Submission, Sex Stopwatch, The Hole Is Open and MILF Hunting in Another World all sounded incredible, but I just couldn’t resist the allure of a little something called I Was the One Who Got Hypnotized but I Made an Idol Harem. It’s a catchy title that just rolls off the tongue, and I was hoping to see other things getting the tonguing treatment.
The story and corresponding Manhwa Scans here are already up to Chapter 18. I figured I’d just jump in with the current release and go back if I needed to. The synopsis helped get me caught up a bit; this one’s about a road manager for a female idol group who finds a hypnosis app, and the mature supernatural fantasy that ensues.
Chapter 18 opens gloriously, with a babe bent over while a dude nails her from behind. Unfortunately, this is where I finally ran into something I was dreading but expecting.
Like most hentai sites, ManhwaScan.net has a ton of censored content. That round peach of an ass is beautifully drawn and shaded, but the dick coming in from behind is just a dingdong-shaped white space in the image.
The dick may be invisible, but it’s hitting the chick’s G-spot, making her go wide-eyed and squeal. “Normally, I would’ve given Minji Time to get used to my cock,” reads the caption a few pages in, as the slamming continues. “But not now. I am filled with the thought of rough fucking Park Minji, who is in front of me right now.”
There’s a very quick flashback, but most of the chapter is just panel after panel of hardcore fucking, albeit censored. I didn’t even realize the guy had a condom on until he filled it up, peeled it off and tossed it on her butt. My man is already ready to go again, so he wraps back up and goes back to town. Censored or not, the art and the antics have me so fucking horny that I need to wrap up this review before I jizz my pants here at Starbucks.
ManhwaScan.net has some minor issues like censorship and weak tagging, but it ain’t hard to see why they’re getting an easy million visits a month. Their catalog of free manhwa has enough variety, perversion, and high-quality content to keep fans of Asian sex comics happy and fapping.
